An empty SAS data set is created when writing the contents of a hash object using the output method when the following conditions are true:

• The data set resides in a SAS metadata-bound library.
• The metadata-bound library is defined to use encryption.

When this problem occurs, no errors or warning are written to the SAS log. However, a note in the log indicates that zero observations were written, as shown in this example:
